A work in Progress

Giving Tuesday, mockups

This week we logged the finishing touches on three mockups for Giving Tuesday.

Some thoughts…

“What if there was no advertising?” ~George Nimeh, TEDx

There has been significant growth in the ten years since, 'What if there was no advertising?’ by George Nimeh premiered on TEDx. I think most would agree that a world without lame or abusive advertising would be a win for everyone. However, the key takeaway from the Nimeh video regarding display advertising remains the same, stay on top of the ever evolving preference of the client.

One thing for sure, there is no love for the ad space. It’s a product driven arena based on economic principles. Creating a community around ideas and products worth sharing is the Moment. ~Because, how else could an influencer like Nara Smith go from less than a thousand followers on Insta to 10.8M TikTok followers, and fabulous endorsement deals, in less than a year? https://www.tiktok.com/@naraazizasmith

Lastly…

For the truly creative, conventional time does not exist. Driven by vision or a passion project, time is ticked by stages of completion. However, when a creative project is a written work, time runs with the due date. And in the end, most of us work best with definitive deadlines, as they are the cohesive markers of time management.

By contrast, there’s the jellyfish time management protocol. Where we are forever suspended in a vast ocean of time without beginning or end. Where we create because…well, we create. It’s what we were meant to do.

And sometimes we even finish a project here and there.
